How Modern Technology
Has Helped Us Grow
Many adults will quickly realize that dentistry today is very different from how it was when they were children. Technology is constantly marching forward, and as it does new possibilities for high quality care make themselves known. Since our team’s number one priority at Baldwin Family Dental has always been to help you and your loved ones feel comfortable, we’ve made sure to keep up with the latest advancements that will let us do just that.
How Technology Makes Our Dentistry Better
- High-Quality Images Allow for Detailed Prognoses
- Faster, Safer, Clearer X-Rays Through Digital Technology
- Easier Communication Between Dentist and Patient
Intraoral Camera
This simple wand-shaped device lets us examine every angle of the inside of your mouth. The high-quality images it produces makes it easier to catch even the smallest signs of decay or early symptoms of gum disease. And since we can display these images on our chairside monitor, we can show our findings to you instead of leaving the issue to your imagination; we want you to feel like you’re an active participant when it comes to planning your treatment.
Digital X-Rays
X-rays are nothing new to dentistry, but nowadays you’ll find that digital X-rays are far preferred to traditional radiography. The process involves much less radiation than it used to (which is good news for you and our team!), and we can have the images developed right away instead of using a darkroom. The clarity that digital images offer makes it easier to pinpoint decay and other problem areas between your teeth and other areas that would normally be hard to see.
iTero Digital Scanner
Traditionally, impressions of teeth have had to be made with physical putty material, which is uncomfortable for the patient and often produces inaccurate results to boot. Thankfully, iTero technology provides a much more efficient and precise alternative! This revolutionary digital scanner captures a comprehensive image of the tooth or teeth in question quickly, allowing for confident treatment planning and a finished product that exceeds expectations. Plus, it makes appointments much faster overall.
